Find the serial

  1. Check the radio card in the handbook wallet first.
  2. Otherwise take the radio out with radio removal keys.
  3. Copy the serial from the label: 14 letters and numbers starting VWZ, AUZ, SKZ or SEZ.

It isn’t shown on the display, so read it from the label on the radio’s case (usually the top or side).

Taking the radio out

Needs a pair of radio removal keys (a few pounds from any car parts shop). Push them in until they click, then ease the radio forward. Photograph the label rather than copying it by hand.

  1. Buttons 1 to 4 set each number (press again to count up).
  2. Hold one of the arrow (seek) buttons for 2 seconds or more to finish.
