  1. The serial is not shown on screen.
  2. Take the radio out with 4 removal pins (2 each side).
  3. Read the serial on the label on the radio (on a Grande Punto it is on the back, by the plug).
  4. Type in the last 4 numbers, or the letter and 4 numbers.

Tips for your Fiat Punto

  • The Punto was sold with radios from four different makers, so the serial decides, not the year. Type it into the free check first.
  • The radio comes out with four release keys; the serial is on the label on the top or side.
  • A serial starting FA is a Grundig radio, which we can’t do. A label reading A2C and a long number is a Continental VP1 or VP2 — type the whole A2C line in, because we do those.

Where is the radio serial on a Punto?

On the label on the radio case. Punto radios don’t show it on screen, so the radio has to come out.

My serial starts 815 — is that it?

No. The 815 is a prefix on the label. The serial is the part starting BP or CM, or the short 4-number Daiichi serial.

Is my code in the service book?

Fiat often supplied a code card with the car, so it’s worth a look before the radio comes out.

Which radio does my Fiat Punto have?

It depends on the year. 1999–2010 (Punto Mk2): Blaupunkt and Bosch radios badged Fiat. 2005–2012 (Grande Punto): Fiat 199 CD radios made by Daiichi, plus Blaupunkt, Bosch and Grundig radios. 2009–2018 (Punto Evo and Punto): Fiat radios made by Daiichi (some badged Mopar), Blue&Me on some cars. How do I enter the code on a Fiat Punto?

Press the preset button bearing each digit, one press per digit. There is no confirm key — it accepts as soon as the fourth digit is set, and there is roughly a twenty-second limit on the whole entry.
