Vauxhall CD30 radio code from your serial

The CD30 and CD30 MP3 are the units where Vauxhall changed the rules: from about 2004 most are matched to the car with its Car Pass rather than unlocked with a code from the serial. Here is how to tell what you have got.

Which radio is in your Vauxhall CD30?

Vauxhall fitted different radios over the years. Find your CD30’s years below, but go by the serial: radios are often swapped, and the free check reads it for you.

What is printed on the label

People look these up because they are the only numbers on the radio that mean anything. A part number identifies the unit and is the same on every one ever built; the serial is yours alone and is the one we need. They are easy to mix up, so here is what to expect on a Vauxhall CD30.

Printed on the unitWhat it is
7 640 852 520The Blaupunkt part number on the CAR300 and its relatives.
GM030MThe serial prefix on those — the rest of the serial is yours.
No serial at allOn the units matched to the car, there is nothing on the label that produces a code.

A part number on its own cannot produce a code — every radio of that model shares it. If the number you have is one of the part numbers above, keep looking for the serial: it is the longer one, and usually on a separate line or a barcode label.

How to find your Vauxhall CD30 radio serial number

The serial isn’t shown on the screen: it is printed on a label on the radio itself. The serial tells us exactly which code your radio needs.

Where it is

On the label

  1. Some radios show it: hold DISP or DISPLAY for a few seconds.
  2. Otherwise take the radio out and take a photo of the label.
  3. Copy all 14 letters and numbers, like BP3782R3701682.

Take a photo of the label rather than copying it by hand: it’s easy to mix up 0 and O, or 1 and I.

RADIOPush both keys in until they click, then pull the radio forward

Most radios slide out with a pair of radio removal keys (a few pounds from any car parts shop). Push them into the slots on the front until they click, then ease the radio forward. Some have screws to undo first.

Tips for your Vauxhall CD30

  • Take the unit out and look at the label before assuming. If it carries a 14-character serial starting BP, it is a Blaupunkt and our calculation reads it in seconds.
  • If instead it is matched to the car, no code exists to find and a Vauxhall dealer or an auto-electrician with the right software is the honest answer.
  • Type whatever the label says into the free check. It costs nothing and it settles the question in a second.

How to enter your Vauxhall CD30 radio code

Once you have your code, key it in like this. The example below shows the button presses. Your order page shows the same steps next to your code.

DISPLAY~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~!!!!!!CODE!!!!!!123456BUTTONS 1–6
Press button 1 twice for 2, button 2 five times for 5, button 3 eight times for 8, button 4 four times for 4, then hold button 5 for a couple of seconds to confirm.

Blaupunkt / Bosch

  1. Buttons 1 to 4 each set one number.
  2. Hold button 5 (or the tuning knob) to finish.
  3. Won’t go above 1 for the first number? Use the second code we give you.

If your Vauxhall CD30 radio says LOCKED, WAIT or SAFE

Each wrong code makes the radio wait longer before the next try, and some radios lock for good after too many. Don’t guess: get the right code first, then follow the steps for your radio.

RadioWhat to do
Blaupunkt / BoschAfter a wrong code, most Blaupunkt radios make you wait before the next try, and the wait gets longer each time. Leave the radio switched on until it asks for the code again.

Why we use your radio’s serial, not your number plate

A radio code belongs to the radio, not the car. A dealer usually looks it up from the Vauxhall CD30’s number plate or VIN (the 17-character number in your logbook), which only works if the car still has the radio it left the factory with. Radios are often swapped under warranty, upgraded, or changed by a previous owner.

The serial number is printed on the radio itself, so the code we give you matches the radio in front of you. It is also how we can check it for free before you pay. Main dealers often charge £30–£130, and you usually have to book the car in.

Vauxhall CD30 radio code questions

Can you do a CD30 code?

Sometimes. The Blaupunkt-built ones with a BP serial, yes, in seconds. The ones matched to the car with its Car Pass, no — and nor can anybody who tells you otherwise.

What is a Car Pass?

A card Vauxhall supplied with the car carrying a security code. Where the radio is matched to the car, that is the route, and the dealer can help if the card is gone.

Why do other sites say they can do it?

Some are selling you a lookup that will fail. We would rather tell you for nothing that we cannot.

How much is a Vauxhall CD30 radio code?

£9.99 per code. The free check comes first, so you only pay once we know we can do it, and you get your money back if the code doesn’t work.

How long does it take?

Most Vauxhall CD30 codes appear on screen the moment you’ve paid, and we email you a copy. If yours has to be looked up by our team, we email it within 2 hours and tell you before you pay.

What if the code doesn’t work?

Check the serial first: 0 and O, or 1 and I, are easy to mix up. Still stuck? Tell us from your order page and we’ll put it right or refund you in full.
