About Daiichi radio codes
The 199 CD and 199 CD MP3 turn up badged Daiichi, Blaupunkt or Mopar depending on where they were built, and they are the same unit on the same scheme. They went into the Punto, Grande Punto, 500, Panda, Bravo, Doblò, Idea, Croma, Linea, Fiorino, Qubo and Ducato, and into the Alfa MiTo and Giulietta and the Lancia Ypsilon, Musa and Delta. None of them shows the serial on screen — the unit slides out on four release pins and the label is on the top, side or rear.
How to find your Daiichi radio serial number
The serial isn’t shown on the screen: it is printed on a label on the radio itself. The serial tells us exactly which code your radio needs.
On the label
- The serial is not shown on screen.
- Take the radio out with 4 removal pins (2 each side).
- Read the serial on the label on the radio (on a Grande Punto it is on the back, by the plug).
- Type in the last 4 numbers, or the letter and 4 numbers.
Photograph the label rather than copying it by hand — 0 and O, 1 and I are easy to mix up.
This radio comes out with four removal pins, two in each end of the front. Push them in until they click, then ease the radio forward.

Why does my Fiat radio say Daiichi?
Fiat had the 199 CD built by more than one maker. Daiichi, Blaupunkt and Mopar badges all cover the same unit and the same code scheme.
How is the code entered?
Press the preset button bearing each digit, one press per digit. There is no confirm key — it takes the code as soon as the fourth digit is set, and there is roughly a twenty-second limit on the whole thing.
How much is a Daiichi radio code?
