About Continental radio codes
Continental — the same group that owns VDO — supplied Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Lancia and Abarth with the VP1 and VP2 units from about 2010. They are the ones with a label starting A2C, and they do not put that serial on the screen: the unit comes out on four release keys and the label is on the metal case.
How to find your Continental radio serial number
The serial isn’t shown on the screen: it is printed on a label on the radio itself. The serial tells us exactly which code your radio needs.
On the label
- The serial is not shown on screen.
- Take the radio out with 4 release keys (2 each side) until they click, then pull.
- The label is on the metal case, on the back or one of the sides.
- It reads A2C and then a long run of numbers — type the whole thing in. Only the last 4 numbers are the serial and we take them for you.
Photograph the label rather than copying it by hand — 0 and O, 1 and I are easy to mix up.
This radio comes out with four removal pins, two in each end of the front. Push them in until they click, then ease the radio forward.

How to enter your Continental radio code

- Confirm with the key on the right of the fascia, or by holding the last button.
If your Continental radio says LOCKED, WAIT or SAFE
Each wrong code makes the radio wait longer before the next try, and some radios lock for good after too many. Don’t guess: get the right code first, then follow the steps for your radio.

Continental radio code questions
How do I know I have a Continental unit?
The label. A Continental VP1 or VP2 carries a part number starting A2C. If yours does, this is the right page.
Is the VP1 the same as the 199 CD?
No. The 199 CD is the Daiichi and Blaupunkt built unit with a short serial. The Continental is the A2C one.
Can I see the serial without removing the radio?
Not on these. Some Fiat units show a serial on screen; the Continental does not.
How much is a Continental radio code?
