About Bosch radio codes

Blaupunkt was Bosch’s car audio arm, so a unit wearing either badge is the same radio underneath and takes the same serial. They went into Vauxhall, Opel, Nissan, Ford, Peugeot, BMW, Iveco, Holden, Suzuki, Rover and MG, as well as the aftermarket range. On many of them the serial is on the screen — switch on and press DISP, sometimes held for a few seconds — and otherwise it is on the label once the unit is out.

How to find your Bosch radio serial number

The serial isn’t shown on the screen: it is printed on a label on the radio itself. The serial tells us exactly which code your radio needs.

Where it is

On the label

  1. Some radios show it: hold DISP or DISPLAY for a few seconds.
  2. Otherwise take the radio out and take a photo of the label.
  3. Copy all 14 letters and numbers, like BP3782R3701682.

Photograph the label rather than copying it by hand — 0 and O, 1 and I are easy to mix up.

RADIOPush both keys in until they click, then pull the radio forward

Most radios slide out with a pair of radio removal keys (a few pounds from any car parts shop). Push them into the slots on the front until they click, then ease the radio forward. Some have screws to undo first.

How to enter your Bosch radio code

Once you have your code, key it in like this. The example below shows the button presses. Your order page shows the same steps next to your code.

DISPLAY~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~!!!!!!CODE!!!!!!123456BUTTONS 1–6
Press button 1 twice for 2, button 2 five times for 5, button 3 eight times for 8, button 4 four times for 4, then hold button 5 for a couple of seconds to confirm.

Blaupunkt / Bosch

  1. Buttons 1 to 4 each set one number.
  2. Hold button 5 (or the tuning knob) to finish.
  3. Won’t go above 1 for the first number? Use the second code we give you.

If your Bosch radio says LOCKED, WAIT or SAFE

Each wrong code makes the radio wait longer before the next try, and some radios lock for good after too many. Don’t guess: get the right code first, then follow the steps for your radio.

RadioWhat to do
Blaupunkt / BoschAfter a wrong code, most Blaupunkt radios make you wait before the next try, and the wait gets longer each time. Leave the radio switched on until it asks for the code again.

What we can and can’t do

We can do

  • Bosch and Blaupunkt head units

We can’t do (yet)

  • Bosch units outside the Blaupunkt range

We always tell you before you pay. Not sure? Send us a photo of the label.

Bosch radio code questions

Is a Bosch radio the same as a Blaupunkt?

For radio codes, yes. Blaupunkt was the Bosch car audio brand, and the units share the same serial scheme.

Where is the serial on a Bosch radio?

Often on the screen: switch on and press DISP or DISPLAY, holding it for a few seconds on some fascias. If nothing comes up, the unit has to come out and the serial is on the label.

How do I enter the code?

Presets 1 to 4 each step their own digit. Hold preset 5, or the tuning knob on some fascias, to submit it.

How much is a Bosch radio code?

£9.99 per code. The free check comes first, so you only pay once we know we can do it, and you get your money back if the code doesn’t work.

How long does it take?

Most Bosch codes appear on screen the moment you’ve paid, and we email you a copy. If yours has to be looked up by our team, we email it within 2 hours and tell you before you pay.

What if the code doesn’t work?

Check the serial first: 0 and O, or 1 and I, are easy to mix up. Still stuck? Tell us from your order page and we’ll put it right or refund you in full.
