Tips for your Volkswagen Passat
- Check the wallet first — VW put the serial and often the code on a paper radio card.
- VW radios don’t show the serial on screen. Single radios come out with two flat keys, double-height and sat nav radios usually need four.
- If the radio is the one the car was built with, leaving the ignition on for a while sometimes lets it unlock itself after a flat battery.

Where do I find my Passat radio serial?
On the label on the radio (it has to come out) or on the radio card that came with the car. It is 14 characters starting VWZ.
Can you do a 2016 Passat?
No. From the B8 the radios are matched to the car, so there is no code to work out from a serial.
My radio says SAFE.

Can you do every Volkswagen Passat radio?
